It may be necessary to use cooling in a livestock house to ensure that the house temperature does not get excessively high. Depending on the age of the animals and the type of production, they are affected to a greater or lesser extent if the house temperature is too high.

A high temperature has an adverse impact on productivity, including reduced feed intake, and can ultimately lead to increased mortality due to heat stress.

You can reduce the negative impact significantly using cooling. SKOV offers two types of cooling - high-pressure cooling or pad cooling.

Great emphasis is attached to quality and flexibility when developing SKOV cooling products. We ensure quality by using very reliable components with long service life.

High-pressure cooling

High-pressure cooling can be added to a ventilation system with wall or ceiling inlets. The system adds atomized water particles to the air in the livestock house. The water particles evaporate in the heated housing air and thereby cool the air.

The pump forms the basis for an efficient cooling system. You get a complete pump unit from SKOV, including filters, ready for power and water connection.

Only stainless steel and acid-resistant pipes and joints with high durability and long service life are used for the piping system.

FlexClamp nozzle can be placed anywhere, allowing for optimal positioning above the air intake.

You can also use the high-pressure system for humidification of the livestock house or soaking between batches.

Cooling pads can be used for Tunnel and Combi-Tunnel ventilation. The cooling takes place when fresh air passes through cooling pads that are kept damp by trickling water. The fresh air is cooled when it absorbs water vapor from the cooling pads.

DA 100B/150B is a complete cooling pad system that is very flexible and easily adaptable to most house types.

In contrast to other cooling systems, there is no need for a separate water tank. The tank is integrated with the lower gutter and is thus part of the gutter system.

Water is supplied directly without the use of special distributing pads that are used in many other systems.

The bleed-off function poses a distinguishing feature to the system. The purpose of the bleed-off process is to keep the salt concentration below a certain level by continually draining water with ample quantities of minerals from the cooling system and replacing it with fresh water with a lower content of minerals.
